Mountain House Therapeutic Outreach Center
WHAT IS MOUNTAIN HOUSE?
Mountain House is a therapeutic outreach center for adults in Teton County who are experiencing issues connected with mental illness. Mountain House provides a safe, warm, comfortable environment where community members may “drop in" to relax, read, work on the computer, visit with others, or meet with staff members who can help them address their issues and improve the quality of their lives.
THE MISSION OF MOUNTIAN HOUSE
Mountain House, as part of Jackson Hole Community Counseling Center, provides a supportive, safe environment in which clients are assisted with meeting their mental health and support needs. Services offered include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, social and recreational opportunities, vocational and career support through job coaching and a working relationship with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, case management services, and psychiatric medication clinics.
THE VISION OF MOUNTAIN HOUSE
OUR VISION at Mountain House is to create a healthy environment which inspires hope, encourages people to face life’s challenges, and promotes independence.
WHOM DO WE SERVE?

Services and opportunities include individual, couples and group therapy, crisis intervention, social and recreational activities, case management, job coaching and career support, and medication management. Multiple staff members may work with a client as part of our team approach to provide the widest range of support and care.
INDIVIDUAL, COUPLES AND GROUP THERAPY
Our counseling services address all mental health issues that may arise, such as mental illness (with or without substance abuse), interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, life changes, personal growth and mental illness management.
As part of JHCCC, we offer crisis services for mental health emergencies that develop. We work closely with St. John’s Medical Center as well as other community organizations. People in need of emergency services may come by Mountain House at 640 E. Broadway during business hours or call our 24-hour crisis telephone number at 307-733-2046.
SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITES
Members of our staff host a variety of social and recreational opportunities. These include, but are not limited to: art therapy, movie nights, potlucks, walking, hiking, gardening, biking, drumming, yoga, cooking and therapeutic fieldtrips and retreats. The goal of our social/recreational activities is to develop a community of peers for clients who often feel isolated.
Our caseworkers encourage and support increased independence for our clients. Our team assists client by linking with community resources and services, teaching basic life skills which reinforce independence, and promote community integration. We include volunteer activities at our agency as well as other non-profits in the promotion of community integration.
JOB COACHING AND CAREER SUPPORT
The staff at Mountain House work closely with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Workforce Services. We have our own job coach who is often instrumental in assisting people with their employment and career decisions, options, and choices. Staff are also available to help with resume writing and teaching computer basics.
Psychiatric consultation and assessments for medication are available by appointment to help clients with their psychiatric medication needs.
